Zanzibar Option

We welcome you to Zanzibar, the majestic spice island of the Indian Ocean. Many nationalities have settled here at one time or another and influenced the local culture. Plantations were developed to grow spices, now known as the Spice Islands.  It was East Africa's main slave-trading port, and in the early 19th century where approximately 50000 slaves passed annually through the slave markets of Zanzibar. Visit the slave markets on your Stone Town tour.

Day 1 –  Zanzibar

On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel situated on the West Coast. Accommodation:  Sea Cliff Resort.

Day 2 Zanzibar

Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will go on a half day city tour to discover the exotic Stone Town. This tour gives you an introduction to the unique culture and history of this island that was once ruled by the Sultans of Oman. Visits to the National Museum, the Anglican Cathedral, the City Market, the House of Wonders, the Arab Fort, and the narrow twisting streets of the city give a glimpse of its exotic and mysterious past.

Day 3 Zanzibar

Day at leisure to relax by the pool or on the beach.

Safari Grading:  Moderate to difficult- do note that the mountain gorilla trekking conditions can be hard and the length of the trek can be anything from 3 to 10 hours.  You will need a good level of fitness and mobility.  Due to accommodation and gorilla permit availability, all prices and itinerary are subject to change.  Please note this trip starts and finishes in Entebbe (Uganda) or Kigali (Rwanda).  Please be advised that if we are unable to obtain gorilla permits in Uganda we will suggest you trek in Rwanda.

 Victoria Falls and Chobe Option

4 Day/3-night Sample Itinerary

 Day 1 - Victoria Falls

On arrival in Victoria Falls apply for a multi-entry visa.  After clearing customs and immigration, you will be met and transferred to your Hotel. This afternoon you will enjoy an elephant back safari.

Day 2 -Victoria Falls

Enjoy an early morning breakfast at Jungle Junction with spectacular views of Victoria Falls. After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel for your guided tour of Victoria Falls.

You can book an optional helicopter flight over the falls before lunch.  Return to your hotel for the afternoon at leisure, perhaps you would like to have  high-tea on the verandah or visit the craft markets.  You could enjoy a dinner and entertainment at “The Boma” (Dinner and lunch for own account)

Day 3-    Chobe, Botswana

This morning after breakfast you will check out of your hotel where you will be transferred to the Botswana border, you will clear immigration before travelling on to your hotel in Botswana.  After checking in at your hotel you will be at leisure. This afternoon enjoy a boat cruise on the Chobe River.

Return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 4- Depart

Today you will have an early morning game drive in Chobe National Park before returning to your hotel, where you will have breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer back to Victoria Falls airport for your flight.

Blue Train – 5-star luxury rail travel

There are two sittings for lunch and dinner. Lunch is smart-casual, dinner is jacket and tie for the men and elegant wear for the ladies, while breakfast is casual.

Each of The Blue Trains has two lounges: the main lounge car in which high tea is served each afternoon, and the club car where guests can relax over a post-prandial cognac. The club car is the only public area available for smoking.                                                                          

Rovos Rail – 4 star luxury rail travel

The Price of Africa is a collection of glorious locomotives named after the Vos family members.  The story behind each Rovos rail train, is the acquisition and restoration.  Each one has its own distinctive character and change and will stir the senses of any rail enthusiast. The train is made up of engine, generator card, guest sleepers/cabins (There ae three types of cabins, the Pullman, The Deluxe and the Royal Suites), a non-smoking lounge car, 2 non-smoking dining cars, a kitchen car, a smoking lounge and an observation car at the tail.

Mobile devices and internet.  In maintaining the spirit of travel of a bygone era the use of mobile phones and laptops are confined to the privacy of your suites so as not to disturb other passengers.
